Lisa’s mother also died 5 months ago of the same disease. Lisa has been coping by sleeping up to 15 hours per day and by drinking 1 to 2 bottles of wine during the times when she is awake. She says this really helps to get her mind off of the loss and helps to reduce the emotional pain associated with her mother’s death. Lisa has also been making effort to avoid talking to family or friends about the loss of her mother as that will “only make me miss her more and will just make me feel worse.”
